Shreveport mayor responds to complaints that he's snubbing the Black community

The call first went out around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

A lockdown was put in place on the two Shreveport campuses around 11:20 a.m. and lifted around 1 p.m.

The dedication event was held Wednesday, Sept 6 at 11 a.m. at 2320 Legardy Street.

Law enforcement officials say students at C.E. Byrd High School and Creswell Elementary are safe after officials got reports of a potentially armed person on or near the campus.
